Blue Ledger Terms of Use

This Terms of Use agreement ("Terms") governs your use of Blue Ledger: Surgical Case Log ("the App"), developed by Pocket Retina LLC.

By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the App.

Blue Ledger is a surgical case logging and organization application designed to support physicians and trainees in tracking and reviewing clinical cases.

Use of the App

Blue Ledger is intended for professional, educational, and organizational use only.

The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations and is not a medical device.

The App is not intended to be used for clinical decision-making or as a substitute for professional medical judgment.

Use of the App does not replace clinical judgment or professional responsibility.

User Responsibilities

By using Blue Ledger, you agree to:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Ensure that no patient-identifiable information or protected health information (PHI) is entered into the App
  • Obtain any required permissions before entering or recording case-related information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials

The App is not intended for the storage, transmission, or sharing of identifiable patient information under any circumstances. You are solely responsible for ensuring that all content entered into the App is fully de-identified and compliant with applicable privacy laws.

Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload or record identifiable patient information (including names, faces, medical record numbers, or other identifiers)
  • Use the App in violation of privacy or healthcare regulations
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or misuse the App
  • Use the App for unlawful, harmful, or misleading purposes

User Content

You retain ownership of the content you create and store within Blue Ledger.

You grant Pocket Retina LLC a limited right to process and store this content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the App.

Data Storage and Security

Information within Blue Ledger may be stored locally on your device and/or on secure backend infrastructure to support app functionality.

Case media attached to private case logs remains stored locally on your device. If you choose to publish a case to your portfolio, the media you include in that shared portfolio case may be uploaded to secure backend infrastructure so it can be displayed as part of that sharing feature.

While reasonable safeguards are used, Pocket Retina LLC does not guarantee absolute security of data.

Availability and Changes

Pocket Retina LLC may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time.

These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the App if these Terms are violated.

You may stop using the App at any time.

Disclaimer

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Pocket Retina LLC makes no warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, or suitability for any particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pocket Retina LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or any losses arising from use of the App, including any clinical decisions or outcomes.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, United States.
